Close to the town of La Rochelle, not only is it close to the sea, but also to the rail networks. The town was the major exportation centre of cognac at that time. In addition, the climate in this area lent itself extremely favourable to the distillation and aging process of the cognacs that filled the chateau’s cellars.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eJ Normandin Mercier Cognac today is still firmly a family-run affair. Using the knowledge and expertise passed down to them over the decades, Edouard, Jean-Marie and Audrey Normandin continue to produce cognacs in exactly the same methods as their ancestors. With this firmly in mind, the estate of Cognac J Normandin-Mercier remains to this day a chateau which welcomes visitors and provides them with personal experience of today’s cognac making industry. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThis Cognac is a blend of very old Cognac spirits originating exclusively from Premier Cru from the Cognac region: Grande Champagne.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThis Grande Champagne Cognac aged in red barrels.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe colour is a sustained gold with amber hues.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eTo the nose dominate first dried fruits like hazelnut and almond followed by candied fruits and touches of citrus, cinnamon and spicy vanilla with notes of lightly smoked honey, dried herbs and blond tobacco. A wide aromatic range.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eTo the palate: long and wide with a great smoothness and notes of dried fruits, spices, coffee, and chocolate.
