Hellyers Road's 12 Year Old Single Malt Whisky is aged in American white Oak (ex-Bourbon casks) and was the first aged statement expression from Hellyers Road Distillery. First released in 2014, it quickly became Australia’s highest-selling, locally crafted single malts, and for good reason. Its flavour is regarded as one of the few truly unique styles in the whisky world. Highlighting distinctive signature citrus nuances, akin to the most unique distilleries of Scotland, it is fair to say, that no Australian distillery is comparative. The style is a subtle and delicate - the most welcoming whisky for any new enthusiasts. Triple distilled and matured in American white oak, bottled at 46.2% alcohol by volume with no artificial colouring or chill filtration required. The distilling process ensures an enhanced single malt flavour delivering a well-balanced, smooth and incredibly versatile lighter bodied expression. Tasting Note - A burnished copper glow gives rise to the intent of this silky single malt whisky. The nose detects vanilla and citrus, typical of Hellyers Road offerings, while the palate is seduced with an oily sweetness that lingers through lavender and honey to a mellow, toasty aftertaste. Time spent in the cask has added a new dimension.
