Our Grenache bush vines are old. The gnarly strugglers were planted in 1946 in a deep sandy dune we call the Beach on our single vineyard estste in the cooler, elevate northeast of McLaren Vale, overlying the North Maslin Sands geological formation. We aim for complexity and elegance in our Grenache, the vines are not irrigated, the bunches are stored in the winery with only the perfect berries being selected, open fermented using wild yeasts and basket pressed.
